El Paraiso is the culmination of the long-standing coffee-efforts in southern Colombia. 15 years ago, a handful of families decided to form a union to mutually help each other out in growing, processing and shipping their coffees. Nowadays this union counts 45 families and the district of La Vega in Tarqui, Huila has become a staple in specialty coffee production since, cultivating many different high-quality varieties in altitudes between around 1600 and 1900m.
